Swim 3.8 kms. Bike 180 kms. Run 42.2 kms.

That’s what it takes to complete an IRONMAN triathlon. It sounds nearly impossible, but ordinary people can do extraordinary things. On November 3, 2018, Mike Willms will go the distance in IRONMAN Florida. As part of his journey, he is fundraising for something close to home: the Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative.

The DWCC wants to achieve extraordinary things in Windsor. Through initiatives like the Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market, Little Things Matter, sports and fitness programs, Community Cafe, neighbourhood cleanups, and community gardens, they are connecting people and renewing our community. Mike is a neighbour actively involved in many of these programs. Working together, ordinary people can do extraordinary things. Your donation helps the DWCC make all of this possible.

Many of the challenges facing our downtown core seem impossible to overcome. The issues are complex. The DWCC engages in core renewal, focusing on place-based community development, encouraging engagement, collaborating with others, and developing resident-led leadership. We are downtown residents working with our neighbours so that ordinary people can do extraordinary things for our downtown core.

Starting October 1st, you can support the DWCC through mobile giving. Simply text “Ironman” to 45678 to give $20 to the DWCC.

Ordinary people are making a difference across this city. Join them in supporting the renewal of our city!
