We love downtown Windsor; we want to see it flourish. This starts with connecting neighbours to one another, providing space to listen, and developing a culture of collaboration across downtown neighbourhoods and across the street.
When we talk about neighbourhood community, we’re talking about activities that bring neighbours out of isolation and into meaningful relationship. We begin with the issues of distinctive neighbourhoods and the dreams of those same places, leaning into practices of hospitality and advocacy.
Our vision is one that many can agree on: we want Windsor to be a good place to grow up and a good place to grow old. We do this by renewing the city through neighbourhood community. Our strategy for creating and resourcing community at the neighbourhood level involves community gardens, barrier free sports, associational life, outdoor movie nights, and many other events in public spaces.
