Meet the Students!

Every year we have the wonderful opportunity to have University of Windsor Social Work students join our team. Meet the students for this semester!

  • Bob is a neighbour, a catalyst, a connector, and our visionary lead. He is a husband, a father of four adult daughters, and a known character in his neighbourhood. He’s a man full of inspiring ideas, a love for his neighbours, and a joy like no other. From alley parties to soccer in the park, and breakfast club to walking his neighbourhood, Bob is always found in the crowd, bringing laughter to his friends. He is a catalyst of ideas, a connector of people, and he’s the visionary leader of the DWCC.

  • Kristen is a neighbour, an advocate, a servant, and our pastoral lead. She is a mother of four and a grandmother. Kristen has a heart for those who have experienced adversity and finds joy in encouraging others. Walking beside them on their healing journey and assisting in practical ways. She loves nature hikes and listening to the experiences of people in the community, over a meal or a cup of coffee. As someone who loves to support and serve others, Kristen feels closest to God when being a part of uplifting others.

  • Mandy is a mother to one son who she adores, and a friend to many as she continues on her own personal healing journey. She loves to walk alongside others as they discover their true authentic self. She is a woman who loves facilitating the connection of people, whether it is through REACT programming, helping with fundraising events, or through bringing the recovery community together. Some of her favourite things include planning our local Friday night EnRoute 502 meetings (open to the public) which offer drop-in education on complex trauma along with some music and social time. She also enjoys planning workshops and recovery retreats. What makes Mandy most happy is seeing people connect with each other, and light up as they discover that we are all united in living this human experience.

  • Loves to connect with people and has a passion for community. Loves to work with others with a special interest and passion in working with youth and teens. A resident in the downtown core that believes that when neighbours connect in friendship and unity, power of community can bring about positive change! Alex can be found in the downtown parks creating events with music and food, at the arenas for his kids hockey games or going for romantic strolls downtown with his lovely wife Mun-hee.

  • Anita takes care of the details and the fundraising events. She is a people person who truly cares, a person of faith, very musical, and has a beautiful transparent personality. She enjoys bantering ideas around with people who think outside the box. Anita loves her family, she is a wife, a mother to 2 girls, and an Oma to 3 grandkids.
