Bob is the Executive Director of the DWCC. He’s the visionary and the founder, a man full of ideas and enthusiasm.He has been the entrepreneurial mind behind so many of the DWCC’s initiatives. He is the DWCC’s point person for the Furniture Bank.
He’s a husband, a father of four, and someone who welcomes his neighbours into his home without hesitation. Kids from the neighbourhood gravitate to his yard where they jump on his trampoline or play badminton on his front lawn.
Sarah is the Community Development Coordinator of the DWCC. She has been with the organization since the beginning, and in her current role for a few years. She works closely with downtown residents to advocate for improvements to our core. She is the lead on the Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market and Block Connectors. She is also a School Board Trustee for the Greater Essex County District School Board.
Hughie is the Peer Support Worker of the DWCC, living and working out of the social housing complex at Glengarry and University. He oversees a drop-in centre at 333 Glengarry called the Lighthouse. Hughie leads with compassion and empathy, catalyzing neighbours to love the place they call home. As someone who comes from poverty and addiction, Hughie has earned the trust of his neighbours because they know he has been through it as well. He is also a musician and guitar teacher.
John is the Sport Director for Sport 4 All and the DWCC. He’s a creative mind who often thinks outside the box, often subverting the need for the box in the first place. He’s the genius mind behind the Sport 4 All “Quad”, and he’s a garden enthusiast. John oversees four Sport Coordinators who work in four priority neighbourhoods across Windsor. These Sport Coordinators work with Our West End Neighbourhood Renewal, the DWCC and the downtown core, the Initiative Neighbourhood Renewal, and Ford City Neighbourhood Renewal.
Steve covers the Operations & Leadership Development of the DWCC. He works with each of the DWCC staff to support and streamline the work they do. He oversees the communications and operations of the organization. He’s a high detail personality with a creative side. Steve is the lead on the Little Things Matter Program. Steve has been with the DWCC since 2017, having moved to Windsor with his wife and kids to help with the work of core renewal.
