Our hearts are full after our Community Centre Open House
Thanks so much to all neighbours, friends and community partners who came out to celebrate our new building at 630 Church Street. If last night is any indication, this space will be quite the warm and welcoming place for neighbours to gather, learn and celebrate.
Over 100 people came out to the launch, including city officials, local business leaders, and experts in the trades, who were able to share their connections, expertise and enthusiasm as we start to turn our dreams for the space into a reality. And most importantly, neighbours from Bruce Park Village showed up and reminded us of the power of gathering as a community. Seeing folks talk, laugh and brainstorm was enough to melt my heart (and the snow on the roof, reminding us that one of our first tasks in the new space is to fix the leak).
Keep the conversation going with us at our next Neighbourhood Meeting on Thursday, February 19th from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Media Arts Centre at 664 Victoria Ave. It will focus on our neighbour’s #1 priority for the Neighbourhoods Program: Community Connection & Belonging. The new Community Centre will definitely be top of mind as we cook up ways to connect, collaborate, and grow together.
