Neighbourhoods Program

Your Neighbourhood. Your Vision.

A community-led initiative to improve the Bruce Park Neighbourhood, powered by your ideas.

About the Project

Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative (DWCC) is partnering with the City of Windsor and County of Essex to bring the Pathway to Potential Neighbourhoods Program to the Bruce Park neighbourhood.

This initiative is focused on community well-being through ground-up change led by the experience, insight, and leadership of neighbours.

What Is Pathway to Potential?

Pathway to Potential (P2P) is a regional strategy led by local government and community partners. It supports programs and policies that help reduce poverty and promote equity in Windsor and Essex County. Learn more about the larger initiative here:

What We’re Doing in the Bruce Park Neighbourhood

We’ve launched a new local team dedicated to working with residents, not just for them.

  • Listening to residents through surveys and conversations

  • Building relationships across the community

  • Identifying shared priorities for action

In Year 1, we started:

  • Launching local initiatives based on what our neighbours are passionate about

  • Supporting community-led projects

  • Advocating for resources and policy changes that reflect Bruce Park’s needs

In Years 2–4, we’re:

Neighbourhood Priorities

We summarized the findings of our 2025 Neighbourhood Meetings, along with formal and informal chats from neighbours at Bruce Park, the Good Hood Community Kitchen, and on porches across the neighbourhood. 3 main themes emerged to formed the basis of our Neighbourhood Action Plan, which we will update & use to guide our work in the Neighbourhoods Program over the next couple of years:

Community Connections & Belonging

Neighbourhood Health & Safety

Local Economic Opportunities

Interested in any of these topics or programs? Or do you have an idea related to these categories that you want to try? We love talking with our neighbours about these projects. Reach out to us at p2p@dwcc.ca to meet with us, or to get a copy of the complete Neighbourhood Action Plan.

Explore some of the dreams of our neighbourhood below.

If you know someone (or are someone) in the neighbourhood that can help turn these ideas into reality, connect with us!

Got a great neighbour? Let them know!

Every street has that one person who makes life brighter. Maybe they share their garden veggies, shovel your sidewalk without asking, or they just always greet you with a friendly smile.

Now is your chance to celebrate them! Nominate them for recognition as a Block Star and show them how much they matter.

They’ll get a handwritten thank-you from the P2P Neighbourhoods Program and a $25 gift card for each of you to a local restaurant (plus you’ll make their day).

*Must live in the Bruce Park Village boundaries to qualify: between Caron Avenue and Pelissier, and between University and Erie Street*

Because good neighbours make great neighbourhoods.
